Organizing!

Get all of your birdies in a row with some handy and crafty organizational tools. My favorite of which is the checklist. This semester I have customized my checklists to help me keep on track for each class. Also color coordinating each subject helps to avoid any confusion for those days when my brain isn't at its sharpest.

Now, I may sound like mommy when I say this but I'll say it anyway; put you're name on you're stuff! Unless you live in pleasantville, which I do not, people like to steal your stuff. Turn around for five seconds at Starbucks to pick up your chai tea latte and your $65 text book or your super cute $35 planner that you JUST bought is gone forever and when there are at least 500 other students that have the same one as you its hard to spot the culprit. However, if you take the time to make yours look unique [and put your name on it] its less likely to get stolen. Make yours stand apart from the rest with custom labels and a cute design.

Plus, super unique school supplies is a great conversation starter. I'm always being asked where I got my note cards, notebooks, and planners. And if you own your own shop sporting your creations is the best way to get people's attention.

So far my desk is looking pretty awesome. Next week I'm going to start on some bookcovers to protect my books and make them uniquely all mine.

Back To School!!!

Oh, how I love back to school time! Yes, I am a total nerd and was counting down the days to all night crams, mid-terms, and study hall. And of course being a super nerd means having mad organizational skills. The best part is customizing my organizational tools with hand made labels and original art work. I'm an English Major so the note book and folder for that class will get the cutest design. I'm also super excited about taking Latin
this semester. So today while granny craft shopping I picked up some school supplies too; portfolio binder, post its, brightly colored page markers, sharpies, notebooks, planner, and an alphabet stamp set. I know, you're asking what does stamps have to do with back to school supplies. Everything my friend, everything, as displayed here on my super awesome nerdy notebooks. Which are 80% sugar cane(gotta do what I can for the rain forest).

Project Teddy Bear

Attempting to start a line of teddy bears has made me think a lot about what kids will like in a teddy bear, so, I started to think back [way back] to my teddy bear years. Well, first they have to be cute; check. Also they have to be comfy because my teddies were often used for pillows; check. Next, they can't look like scary monsters in the dark...AWH! there's a creepy lizard with glowing eyes living in my closet! Dang. But those button eyes are so cute in the light of day. Well, I guess they will just have to come with a disclaimer, "May convince small children that there are lizards in their closet." That aught to do the trick. And Finally, they must be call "stuffed up animals" because that what I thought they were called...and secretly still have to catch myself whenever I say, "stuffed animal."

Going Digital

A friend of mine has a birthday coming up so and my present to her will be a photo/scrapbook of her kids [because she's super mom]. So, I'm going to be trying my hand at digital scrapbooking.

These are kinda crappy screen shots from my computer but I guess you can get the general idea. If anyone has and advices for a newbie digital scrapbooker drop me a line ^_^

New Flickr Account

Check out my new Flickr account I recently opened. Kinda new at this and not really sure how this space wesite works but there lots of cool pictures to check out.

New Rings

I have some awesome new rings just listed with some new designs. The skull cameo is my personal favorite.

I also have some traditional cameos and a new Hello Kitty.

I took a cue from my friend Chelsea to create some better backgrounds so these are new and experimental backgrounds that I'm trying, to liven up my shop. Hope everyone likes them ^_^

THEY'RE HERE!

The crayons have finally been restocked. after getting cleaned out twice I was having a hard time keeping up and getting the crayons to stay in my shop. So I stayed up until 5am last night slaving over a double boiler to make my precious crayons, plus I had to use my new Power Puff Girls mold ^_^ I also restocked my mustaches ( a personal favorite) and made some pretty darn cute baby whale crayons. It's so cute when little chubby fingers swim these cuties across their paper while drawing. I also made some rocket ships (which rock my socks) and giant-crayon, crayons. Check out the Crayons tab for more pics or just go to my esty store and shop around. These crayons also make fun and unique gifts or party favors for birthdays, baby showers, themed parties, and more.

Coming Soon!

I have procured some pretty awesome crayon molds that I've never had in my shop before. If the picture is any clue you can guess that they are Power Puff Girls! I loved this cartoon when I was little and I'm sure that still holds true today for little girls everywhere, so, when I saw these molds the little girl inside of me said, "you better get those or I'm gonna make you eat candy until you're sick!" so then the adult inside of me said, "You can't do that, she's on a diet!!" So, to avoid a scene, I proclaimed, "It's settled!" and I happily bought the molds and will be making some pretty fancy crayons with them tomorrow. I will also be restocking my mustache crayons and a few others.

HELLO!

Hello world, Quixotic Mae here, setting up a page to promote my online etsy store at www.quixotickiss.etsy.com I love to do granny crafts and create unique crochet creations. My shop has a lot of variety from handmade hats and scarves to kawii jewelry, crayons, pin-back buttons, and more. I only use supplies made in the USA and I try to recycle whenever I can. I'm also a college student majoring in English Literature and I like to incorporated my nerdy anime-loving style into my creations which makes the best geekery accessories.
